Happy Creek Minerals Ltd. – Diversified Metals Exploration

Overview

Happy Creek Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: HPY [1]) acquires and explores 100% owned mineral properties in British Columbia, Canada. The Company's original strategy and focus is to discover new, quality economic mineral deposits that are in proximity to existing and past producing mines and resource-based infrastructure. Happy Creek's objective is to sell these deposits, partner to develop them, or under certain conditions, carry the project to production.

Happy Creek first recognized quality in several early stage mineral properties. Through performing careful and systematic, modern and proven exploration methods the Company has located or developed new prospects of real economic interest.  On the Rateria property, the Company has discovered new copper, molybdenum, silver and rhenium zones with comparable grades to that currently being mined from Teck's adjoining Highland Valley copper mine, Canada's largest copper producer. On the Company's Silverboss property, it has outlined a new, large scale copper-molybdenum-gold target that is within 350 metres of the former Boss Mountain molybdenum mine, currently owned by Xstrata. Happy Creek has optioned one of its properties to Newmont Mining who is now a neighbor to the Silverboss property.

The Fox tungsten-molybdenum property is located approximately 30 kilometres east of the past producing Boss Mountain molybdenum mine and 75 kilometres northeast of 100 Mile House, in south central British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the Company's prospects that have consistently delivered positive results.

Key Properties

Fox Property

Initial work on the Fox property identified encouraging geology and reconnaissance stream sediment sample results over a large area. Further work located positive to high grades of tungsten and molybdenum in boulders and outcrops in two large areas; the Nightcrawler and Ridley Creek. Trenching at the Nightcrawler zone produced encouraging results and in 2007 drilling intersected 5.0 metres of 0.33% W03 (tungsten trioxide) and 2.0 metres of 0.74% W03.

Drilling in 2011 was done in two clusters approximately 200 metres apart and were shallow holes focused on the positive tungsten zones occurring in the trenches.  The first ever drilling at the Ridley Creek area has returned high grades of tungsten that confirm the trench results.

[4]

It was recognized from the drill core that the highest grade zones of tungsten occur with sulphide minerals and as a result, a 3 dimensional induced polarization (3D IP) geophysical survey was performed covering the area drilled. This survey is designed to detect such sulphide minerals and it was very successful in identifying the near-surface zones and in particular a very strong and positive target located beneath the 2011 drill holes. This target is thought to potentially represent a significant tungsten deposit and will be a priority for drilling in 2012.

[5]

In the Ridley Creek area, positive values of tungsten occur in soil and outcrop in an area approximately three kilometres by 500 metres in dimension. Drilling has tested only a small portion of this area, about 200 metres in length. There is thought to be excellent potential for tungsten mineralization to occur at or near surface in multiple zones within the three kilometre area.

The Fox property's geology is best described as a tungsten-molybdenum porphyry style system, Cretaceous in age and similar in part, to the Boss Mountain molybdenum mine to the west. This large scale mineralized system cuts metasediment and limestone, Paleozoic in age. The Ridley Creek and Nightcrawler areas are approximately 4 kilometers apart, separated by an evolved, multi-phase monzogranite stock. Numerous dykes and sills cut the metasediment and limestone beyond the stock for several kilometres to the north and south. Calc silicate and tungsten-bearing skarn is developed in these areas.

Overall on the Fox property, positive values of tungsten occur in rock, soil and stream sediment in an area approximately ten kilometres by three kilometres in dimension. The property is located close to hydropower and excellent resource based infrastructure. It is thought to reflect a significant new tungsten (molybdenum) prospect in western Canada. The Company plans to accelerate exploration and perform baseline studies of the Fox property in 2012 with a view to determining its economic resource potential.
